Great Dorset Steam Fair – Showman’s Engine

The twisted brass and lights make the Showman’s engines sparkle at night.  These traction engines at the Great Dorset Steam Fair are used to provide power for the fairground.  I like the way the lines and colours are illuminated.

Great Dorset Steam Fair – Threshing Machine

In its heyday these machines were a common sight in the English countryside enabling a small number of men to thresh many sheaves in a day. The warm afternoon sunlight enhances the colour of the sheaves in the foreground.
